Learn. Drill. Simulate. Review.
TIA teaches the concept, runs you through worked examples, puts you under test conditions, then reviews your weak spots and tells you exactly what to practice next.

The slope-intercept form of a line is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
Example: Find the equation of a line with slope 3 and y-intercept -2. Substitute m = 3 and b = -2 into y = mx + b. Result: y = 3x - 2
What is the equation of a line with slope -4 and y-intercept 5?
Answer the practice question and I will surface exactly where the gap is.
y = mx + b is the standard form. Plug in m and b directly. No rearranging needed.
